An update at last!

Well, some of you seem to feel that I have been "Utterly Remiss" in not updating the site, so here goes the update that was well underway before the afore-mentioned comments and only delayed by the general hilarity around here at men who sign their emails with their wife's name....

So wassup? Well we shall start with the big news-Katherine's surgery. As you know, the prior serial casting did a lot for Kater's foot, but it still was turned out to the side too much.

So Dr. Klamar decided that Katherine needed surgery to lengthen an ankle tendon to let her bones align properly. Off we went to Children's Hospital in Columbus. Katherine was none too sure about the whole thing.
But she went through her surgery and recovery in disgustingly cheerful manner for someone who has been through general anesthesia.
The surgery was very successful, and for the first week after the surgery, she wore this honkin big dressing on her foot.
Even though she did very well at the hospital, Mother and Daughter we both exhausted when we got home and in need of a good drink....
We took her back and got a more permanent cast for the next three weeks. It was purple and Katherine made it quite the fashion accessory.
She was very good with it and never seemed to complain. In fact, she found it very useful for kicking her father out of bed to get a bottle. The bruises may last longer than the cast.....
You can see that the incision has healed very well, and her ankle rests in a natural angle.
Now, until she starts pulling herself up on things, Katherine wear this lovely brace to ensure her ankle doesn't backslide. I think she carries it off well.
I suppose a word about Baseball is in order. There is a problem in that they have stopped playing until Katherine's birthday and she's a bit bent about that.
Especially since she was getting the hang of it and wanting to teach it to her friends.
On the plus side, the Yankees LOST!
On the developmental front, out little premature baby is well ahead of the curve on one front: She seems to be getting teeth at a rate even faster than that at which her father loses hairs! At this writing, the seventh has popped through, and number eight will show any second now.
Shortly after September 11th, we all went out to the Zoo with some friends.
Where Katherine rode the Carousel for the first time. She was VERY into it.
Here's a little movie of the experience.
For her first Halloween, Katherine dressed up as her favorite toy.....
And NOT as the head of the DisneyWorld chapter of the Klan, so don't say it!
Beyond all that, Katherine keeps her day pretty full with eating....
lounging....
watching TV....
and hanging with Merlin.
